You're expecting! Everything you need to know about a session with me. - Laura Cardan

Everything you need to know about a newborn session with me.

And other important session details.

Congratulations! This is such an exiting time! I am very excited you're interested in a Fresh 48 , Studio or In-home newborn session with me.  I would love to capture all of your new baby's tiny details and sweet memories for you.

When should I book?

Sessions will be scheduled based on your due date.  To accommodate when babies are born early or late, I accept a limited amount of due dates per month.  Thus, I suggest scheduling your newborn session 2 months or more before your due date to ensure your spot on my schedule.

What type of newborn session is best for me?

Fresh 48 sessions are in-hospital sessions scheduled while you're still in the hospital.  These sessions are relaxed and a great way to capture all the newness of your little one and special moments you want to remember about the first place you bonded.

In Home newborn sessions take place in your home.  These sessions are a great way to capture baby and your family in the comfort of your home  where you'll make most of your memories together. You'll be able to snuggle up in your favorite rooms

Studio newborn sessions take place at my in-home studio.  My cozy studio provides you a comfortable, all white space to capture your family and new little one in a minimal way.  These sessions are great for providing you with distraction free images where your baby and family are the stars.

Can't decide on just one!  I would love to capture your family in as many spaces as you would like.  I provide session discounts when you bundle 2 or more together.

How old does the baby need to be for the session?

I prefer parents schedule their session between 2 and 6 weeks.  This gives everybody time to adjust to your new schedule and allow mom to heal and feel better.

Babies between 2 and 3 weeks old will be more curly and likely to sleep and be content without having to be tightly swaddled.  Older babies usually need to be swaddled for most of their session if they're not being held.

What days and times are sessions available?

My sessions are offered in my home studio or at your home on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings at 10 am.  Weekend sessions may be scheduled, where available, for an additional $50 fee.

What is provided for my  newborn session?

My sessions are simple and relaxed.  I provide white blankets, white swaddle wraps and white muslin wraps for use during your session.

While I do not bring props, bows or outfits I do love to incorporate your special items into your session.

Other Newborn Session Details

While my full newborn sessions are up to 3 hours in length, to allow plenty of time for feeding and changing, I do try to keep your session as short as possible.

After your session you will receive your edited images within 1 week  of your session date.

I offer a 1 time, complimentary session re-do.  When working with babies and young children things will, often not go as planned.  The option of a session re-do will allow for time to re-take any images we missed.

How do I book a newborn session?

1.  Use the Book Now button below to provide me with the details of your little one's upcoming arrival.

2.  I will confirm whether I have schedule availability and set up a time for a quick chat to ensure I am able to meet your wants and needs and to answer any questions you may have.

3.  Once you are on my schedule you will receive a contract and $150 date reservation fee.  This fee will ensure I will not book somebody else in your spot.

4.  Along with your contract you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire.  This will provide me with all the necessary information I need to provide you with a session you'll be comfortable with and with results you'll love everything about.

After your session has been tentatively reserved contact me soon after birth to officially get on my schedule.
