You're expecting! When should you book a newborn session! - Laura Cardan

When Should You Schedule Your Newborn Photography Session?

And other important session details.

Congratulations! This is such an exiting time! I am very excited you're interested in a Fresh 48 or In-home newborn session with me.  I would love to capture all of your new baby's tiny details and sweet memories for you.

Sessions will be scheduled based on your due date.  To accommodate when babies are born early or late, I accept a limited amount of due dates per month.  Thus, I suggest scheduling your newborn session 2 months before your due date to ensure your spot on my schedule.

How old does the baby need to be for the session?

I prefer parents schedule their session between 2 and 6 weeks.   Babies between 2 and 3 weeks old will be more curly and likely to sleep and be content without having to be tightly swaddled.  Older babies usually need to be swaddled for most of their session if they're not being held.

When do I schedule my session?

Contact me as soon as possible after birth to get on my calendar.

What is provided for my  newborn session?

My sessions are simple and relaxed.  I will bring a posing bean bag, white blanket, white swaddle wrap and white muslin wrap for use during your session.

While I do not bring props, bows or outfits I do love to incorporate your special items into your session.

Other Newborn Session Details

While my full newborn sessions are up to 3 hours in length, to allow plenty of time for feeding and changing, I do try to keep your session as short as possible.

After your session you will receive your edited images within 2 business days.  If your session is on a weekend expect to have them by Wednesday morning.  You will be asked to approve your gallery before I release them for download.

I offer a 1 time, complimentary session re-do.  When working with babies and young children things will, often not go as planned.  The option of a session re-do will allow for time to re-take any images we missed.

How do I book a newborn session?

1.  Use the Book Now button below to provide me with the details of your little one's upcoming arrival.

2.  I will confirm whether I have schedule availability and set up a time for a quick chat to ensure I am able to meet your wants and needs and to answer any questions you may have.

3.  Once you are on my schedule you will receive a contract and invoice for 50% of your session fee.  This is a date reservation fee and will ensure I will not book somebody else in your spot.
